Texas Retina Associates’ Dr. Nikisha Kothari is actively involved in the Women in Retina (WinR) Mentoring Program, a part of the American Society of Retina Specialists (ASRS). Tonight she is serving on an expert panel for their virtual event where she will help select a travel grant recipient for the ASRS Annual Meeting that will be held this summer.
Founded in 2007, the purpose of WinR is to partner with industry to create a year-round mentoring program for young women retina specialists. The program brings together women members for mentoring, networking, collegiality and inspiration. Their goals are to get more women involved in research, making presentations, becoming key opinion leaders, and holding prominent positions in retina and ophthalmology.
