Under the leadership of Principal Investigator Dr. Ashkan M. Abbey, the Texas Retina Dallas research team was recently named the top enroller for Part I of the DFI18231 study, which is evaluating the safety, tolerability, and efficacy of a one-time intravitreal dose of SAR446597 in participants with geographic atrophy secondary to age-related macular degeneration (AMD). The team enrolled seven out of the study’s 18 Part I participants.

The study sponsor opened Part II of the study in August to evaluate different dosage amounts. In addition to Dr. Abbey and the Dallas research team continuing to participate, Texas Retina’s Dr. Patrick D. Williams will serve as a Principal Investigator in Fort Worth, expanding access to this multicenter study.
