exas Retina Associates’ own Karl G. Csaky, MD, PhD, is leading the new, recently announced Clinical Center for Innovation for Age-Related Macular Degeneration in Dallas. This is a joint venture between the Retina Foundation of the Southwest and Southern Methodist University’s School of Engineering, and was made possible by a recent $2.5 million grant from the Caruth Foundation. Dr. Csaky, a renowned macular degeneration researcher, will continue to see patients at Texas Retina Associates while also maintaining his position as chief medical director and T. Boone Pickens Senior Scientist at the Retina Foundation, roles he has served since coming to Dallas from Duke University Medical Center in 2009.
